It causes unpredictable weather patterns, stronger typhoons, and rising sea levels that threaten communities, livelihoods, and natural resources. The predominant reasons for these sudden or progressive changes in the environment include deforestation, excessive carbon emissions, pollution, and the destruction of ecosystems. Human activities, such as illegal logging, burning of fossil fuels, and improper waste disposal, accelerate global warming and make the environment more fragile. https://www.denr.gov.ph

Through science, we uncover the mysteries of nature, develop new technologies, and find solutions to global challenges such as climate change, diseases, and resource scarcity. In the coming decades, the connection between science and society will continue to strengthen. Science influences every part of our daily lives—from communication and transportation to health care and education. As technology advances, society must learn to adapt and use these innovations responsibly. People and governments must work together to ensure that science serves humanity and promotes equality, sustainability, and peace.
