Climate Change and the Resiliency of Filipinos
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the Philippines today. It causes unpredictable weather patterns, stronger typhoons, and rising sea levels that threaten communities, livelihoods, and natural resources. The predominant reasons for these sudden or progressive changes in the environment include deforestation, excessive carbon emissions, pollution, and the destruction of ecosystems. Human activities, such as illegal logging, burning of fossil fuels, and improper waste disposal, accelerate global warming and make the environment more fragile.
