During the third quarter, I gained many important learnings and discoveries that helped me grow academically and personally. I learned how to manage my tasks better, especially in completing blog posts, reflections, and other performance-based activities. I also discovered how technology and digital tools can help me express my ideas more creatively and clearly. Through different lessons and activities, I became more confident in sharing my thoughts and applying what I learned in real-life situations, especially in writing and using online platforms responsibly. However, this quarter was not easy, and I faced several challenges along the way. One of the main problems I encountered was time management, especially when multiple subjects had deadlines at the same time. There were moments when I felt pressured and overwhelmed by the amount of work I needed to finish. I also experienced difficulties in organizing my ideas properly and staying focused, which sometimes affected the quality o...

Dr. Jose Rizal is known as the national hero of the Philippines and is often called “the face of the Philippines.” He was not only a brilliant writer, doctor, and scholar, but also a courageous patriot who fought for the freedom of his country. Among all his achievements, Rizal’s greatest contribution to Philippine society was awakening the spirit of nationalism in Filipinos through his writings and peaceful advocacy for reform. Rizal’s novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo exposed the abuses and injustices of Spanish colonial rule. Through these books, he opened the eyes of Filipinos to the real condition of their society. He showed the importance of education, equality, and love for country. Instead of using violence, Rizal used his intelligence and pen to fight for change. His works inspired many Filipinos to stand up for their rights and to dream of a free and independent nation. Another important contribution of Rizal was his belief in the power of education and moral val...

Christmas is one of the most joyful and meaningful celebrations in the Philippines and around the world. More than the colorful lights, gifts, and decorations, Christmas is a season that reminds people of love, hope, and generosity. It is a time when families and friends come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and to strengthen their relationships with one another. The true essence of Christmas is not found in material things, but in the spirit of giving and sharing. In the Philippines, Christmas is celebrated with many beautiful traditions such as Simbang Gabi, Noche Buena, caroling, and family reunions. These customs show how important faith and family are to Filipino culture. During this season, people make extra efforts to be kind, forgiving, and thankful. Many also help those in need by giving donations, food, or simple acts of kindness. These practices reflect the real meaning of Christmas, which is to spread love and compassion to others. The Christmas season also...

Every October, the Philippines celebrates National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month to recognize the important role of Indigenous communities in preserving the country’s rich culture and traditions. The theme for this celebration, “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development,” highlights how Indigenous Peoples contribute to nation-building. It reminds Filipinos that the traditions, beliefs, and knowledge of IP communities are valuable parts of our national identity. This celebration is meaningful because Indigenous Peoples are considered the original caretakers of the land and environment. They have protected forests, rivers, and natural resources for generations. Their traditional practices in farming, weaving, and craftsmanship show sustainable ways of living that modern society can still learn from. By empowering IP communities, the country can promote inclusive development that respects both culture and nature. National ...

President Elpidio Quirino was the sixth President of the Philippines and the second president of the Third Republic. He was born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Coming from a humble family, Quirino worked hard to finish his studies. He graduated with a law degree from the University of the Philippines and passed the bar examination in 1915. His early life showed his determination and dedication to education, which later helped him become a successful public servant. Quirino began his political career as a representative of Ilocos Sur in 1919. He later became a senator and served in different government positions, including Secretary of Finance and Secretary of Interior. During World War II, he experienced great personal tragedy when his wife and three of his children were killed. Despite this painful experience, he continued to serve the country. In 1946, he became Vice President under President Manuel Roxas, and after Roxas died in 1948, Quirino assumed the presidency. A...

The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration carries the powerful theme: “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” This theme focuses on ending Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and the spread of Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials. As technology becomes part of everyday life, children are more exposed to online dangers. Because of this, it is important to raise awareness and remind everyone that protecting children is not only the responsibility of parents, but of the whole society. In my view, the Philippine government has been taking important steps to protect children’s safety, dignity, and rights. Laws such as the Anti-Child Pornography Act (RA 9775) and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act (RA 7610) help punish those who harm children. Government agencies like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine National Police – Women and Children Protection Desk (...
